The full course is designed to provide teachers and educators a working knowledge of how an individual with autism thinks, the principles behind why children with autism respond the way they do, and the perspective needed in the classroom to work with this unique population of individuals effectively, increase the likelihood of their success, while making the classroom experience better for yourself, the child with autism, and all of his/her classmates.
This presentation is experiential and fun as well as educational. It will answer these questions:
- What IS autism anyway?
- Why does he do THAT?
- Why doesn’t he respond to me?
- How do I create a happy classroom?
You will leave the training with specific tools and understanding that will support you in creating a more unified classroom by making adjustments that can benefit all students rather than creating two separate teaching methods.
